At the end of the Spring Term, we said a fond farewell to our popular Choir Leader, Jake Alexander, who has led us so successfully for several years. All is not doom and gloom as we are delighted to welcome our new Leader, Andra East, when we resume singing on 28th April 2025.

With Jake at the helm, we expanded our varied repertoire and extended our vocal skills. Those of you who have come to our performances know we sing everything from folk and traditional songs to rock, pop and jazz. He leaves with our thanks and good wishes for the future.
Andra has huge experience as a choral conductor, singer and music administrator. She studied Music at Royal Holloway, University of London, where she was a Choral Scholar at the college Chapel Choir. She has a particular interest in music learning and community programmes for adults and young people. She has sung with various chamber and chapel choirs. She has conducted the London Latvian Choir (a mixed ability group) for 15 years. One conduction highlight was leading a performance of nearly 1000 Latvian singers at the Latvian Singers concert in Toronto, Canada.
In a former role with the London Symphony Orchestra, she instigated group singing activities and performances for staff, to support well-being at work. With all this experience we look forward to working with her and enjoying singing together.
We are a small friendly group so come along to one of our sessions. Our Summer Term starts on 28th April 2025. We meet at Woodmansterne Secondary School on Monday nights, singing from 6.45pm to 8.15pm. The first session is free!
