What do we do?

The SVPOA represents some 2000 residents in Streatham Vale and promotes or supports a wide range of activities in the local area.

Our mission is to preserve the genuine ‘village’ atmosphere of Streatham Vale, by supporting and assisting local trades and services where we can and opposing developments and proposals which we consider to be damaging to the area. SVPOA has been established since the Vale was built in 1925 and has been continuously active in pursuing our community ideals to make Streatham Vale a safe and vibrant community for all.

Our community services:
  • Allotments – We own and manage the vast green space that has 60 plots and is situated in Streatham Vale adjacent to the Church of the Holy Redeemer. Find out how you can access this space and get a plot https://svpoa.org.uk/allotments/
  • Annual flower and vegetable show in September.
  • Environmental Committee to support in protection of Streatham Vale.
  • Neighbourhood Watch and monthly “walkabouts” with the local police https://svpoa.org.uk/safety/
  • Work with the local councillors and developers to organise campaigns on a wide range of issues important to the area.
  • We also support the Friends of Streatham Vale Park in their work to maintain the Park as a valuable local amenity open to all.
  • We publish ‘Vale Topics’, a monthly e-newsletter – find out about membership and supporting the community https://svpoa.org.uk/membership/
