Our Member of Parliament, Steve Reed, has been leading a campaign to have the trains into London that Southern have dropped reinstated in the timetable. He is running a petition which you can still sign at https://roknytqjpuc.typeform.com/to/iDRugG95.
Steve recently sent the following letter to people in the area;
Dear Resident,
I am writing to update you on my campaign to bring back our trains.
Firstly, I would like to thank you for signing my petition to Southern Rail calling for the reinstatement of four trains per hour through Thornton Heath, Norbury and Streatham Common. I was delighted that the petition has received over 350 signatures, which just goes to show the strength of feeling from residents on this issue.
I have since received a response from Southern Rail and I am currently in the process of organising a meeting with the Head of Strategic Planning to discuss how we can get our trains back. It would also be really helpful if you could share my petition with your family, friends, and neighbours to show Southern Rail how important this is to our community. Please sign my petition here.
I will keep you updated with any future developments.
Yours sincerely,
The Rt. Hon. Steve Reed OBE MP
Member of Parliament for Streatham and Croydon North
Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
